Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best time to take portraits?

When it comes to natural light (outdoor) photography, the sun plays a major role. Taking photos at noon will result in harsh shadows on faces and squinting. The best time to shoot is up to an hour after sunrise or up to an hour before sunset, which is referred to as the golden hour.

What is the best weather for portraits?

Believe it or not, clouds are actually great for lighting! Trust me, direct sunlight can cause unnatural shadows and make you squint. With that said, pouring rain isn't ideal. If you book a session, I will keep an eye on the weather and contact you if we need to reschedule due to weather.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes, a signed contract and a $25-50 deposit are required to reserve the time and date of the session. Deposits are paid through Stripe and are transferrable if the session is rescheduled

What is your cancellation policy?

Life happens! You're welcome to reschedule your session and your deposit will transfer. However, if you cancel the session, the deposit will not be refunded. If I need to cancel, your deposit will be refunded.

How long is your turnaround time?

My editing time is between 3-10 days, 10 being the absolute max during peak seasons (spring grads, Christmas, etc.)

Do you charge extra for groups?

For groups of 3 people or less, I do not charge extra. If you would like to schedule a session with more than 3 people, please contact me for a quote!

Do you offer printing?

I currently do not offer printing, but I provide a print release with your digital photos so you can get them professionally printed. The print release also gives you the rights to share digitally (social media, etc.).

Will I receive the unedited photos?

Unfortunately, no. I spend a lot of time selecting and editing your photos to give you the highlights of your session. The photos represent my style and brand, so I want them to be the absolute best they can be!
